Two teams will represent UCP in “FAST BUSINESS IDEAS 10″. The competition is on 27th and both of the teams under the supervision of prof K. Rasheed are giving their best and they are quite hopeful about their win. The 1st team “LIFE CORD” including “Rizwan Hameed, Bilal Farooq, Sibgha Aslam, Hira Irfan, Atif M. Amin and Anam Kazmi” are coming up with a unique and different idea.

The Korean red cross offers scholarship for one bright student. The basic expenses like tuitions, will be covered by HENSO UNIVERSITY. Eligibility criteria is mentioned below.

• The student must be less than 21 years of age.
• Proficiency in English and completion of 12 years education is mandatory.
• Must have passed on of the following tests.
  Top IK 4 or above.
  TOEFL 550 or above.
  CBT 210 or above.
  IBT 80 or above.
  A test of Korean to be administrated.

“IDEAS” has opened the membership for the new semester i.e f010. Interested students can get the membership forms from IDEAS office or from their stall @ globe.  The last date for the submission of the forms is 6th March. Interviews are scheduled on 8th and 9th March.

The campus transfer of UCP has been postponed up till next notice. The classes will continue in the same old Gulberg campus from 1st March 2010. According to some reliable resources the campus will be transfered on 15th April.

FAST has announced the business ideas competition for the year 2010. The competition will be on 27th March 2010. Interested teams should send there executive summary along with registration form on fbc@lhr.nu.edu.pk before 1st March 2010. The winning team will get a prize money of Rs. 50,000/=.

After Dean UCP, Dr. Irfan, the pro rector Dr. Fehmida also bade farewell to UCP today. During her tenure UCP made a lot of progress in many different areas. Former Dean MAJU (www.jinnah.edu.pk)  Islamabad has been appointed as the new pro rector of UCP. Dr. Fehmida wished the new pro rector & UCP best wishes.

UCP will always remember Dr. Fehmida and her efforts along with her accomplishment for the betterment of the university.

IEEE Week officially starts today! The event was suppose to be the “biggest ever” and there was so much hype but it seems that only a handful universities are participating and fewer are interested!

The event was scheduled to start at 7: 30 am but started almost 3 hours late! Participating students who have come from different cities are amazed to see that there were no proper arrangements made by the organisers. Team registrations started more than 4 hours late! Also to add here, LUMS students themselves are not aware of any event called “IEEE WEEK” !  The LUMS IEEE management of this event also cancelled two major competitions at the eleventh hour leaving many participants angry!

A girl was found stealing a cell phone today! On further investigation it was found that this girl had disguised the UCP administration and other staff as UCP student for few weeks now! It was also found that this thief, who had pretended to be a UCP student, had also stole a laptop and many cell phones in the past.
